Dear Candidate,
Let me
introduce Guild Master Graphics and myself. I have been a printer since
1960 and in my own printing business since 1978. I have been helping elect
candidates since 1973 when I first helped elect a Raleigh City Council
candidate because I was upset with a zoning issue. Since then, I have done
work for candidates for School Boards, City Councils, the NC General Assembly,
Sheriffs, the US Congress and more. Over the years, many things have changed,
but some things remain the same.
1. Most Candidates do not have
enough money at the beginning of the campaign, (for start up) and run out of money before
the end (the finish line) of the campaign.
2. Many good Candidates have difficulty
making their points in few enough words to be fully understood by the voters.
3. Often money is wasted on a pretty
design, when an effective and inexpensive design is needed.
4. Some candidates buy the cheapest
(instead of the least expensive) materials and wind up with signs that
fall off the stakes in the rain or bumper strips that won't come off the
voters car.
I have been through enough campaigns
to learn the pitfalls and how to avoid them.
The principles I operate
by are:
A. Create a design that is simple but
unique, can be read from the greatest distance, uses one ink color creatively for
production savings, can be enlarged or reduced without losing integrity, and can be reproduced on a copier when necessary, and still look good,
B. Produce quality materials that
hold up to the rigors of volunteers and Mother Nature.
C. Offer help when needed to direct
resources where they are most effective for each particular office/district.
After all, a successful candidate is a repeat customer.
To conclude let
me say that if you don't have your design yet, it is FREE with your order. If you have your design, I will save you money on your material needs,
